War Powers Actor

The question is no longer are Obama's Executive Power Grabs > George Bush's Executive Power Grabs but are Obama's Executive Power Grabs > Richard Nixon's.?

Cruise Issues

I used to think Newt was a dumb, smart guy. I've since downgraded him.

Golf in the Political Kingdom

Anyone who has played golf knows the physical and mental challenges of the game are wildly unsatisfying. That's why it's important to make as many wagers as possible when playing a match. A two dollar Nassau hardly seems worthy of the two most powerful politicians in Washington.

Battle Hymns of the Republicans

Perhaps this was simply an exercise to determine which GOP contender to lose the general election I like drawing best. I'm figuring out Pawlenty (think Bobby Weir singing "Born Cross-Eyed") but I still think Ron Paul, though a work in progress, might be the most fun for a number of obvious reasons.

Chicken Fight

My Pawlenty was pretty bad here. By the following week I was determined redeem ourselves (poor caricatures are always in part the fault of the caricatured).

Speaker of the Devil

Yeah Newt! He's an "idea man." He "loves animals." He's "serious." He's "a dick."

Gotta Serve Somebody

After Maureen Dowd's contribution to the "Encyclopedia-I-Don't-Know-The-First-Thing-About-Bob-Dylan," I became determined to add my own entry. If Not For You, Donald Trump.

Mission Creep Accomplished

I started out trying to draw a cartoon about Congress's Constitutional dereliction of duty that is the lack of a U.S. Budget. I couldn't make it go where I wanted to so I went to a new place that ended up with Newt. As I've mentioned before, I am the son and brother of engineers, so I was drawn to this concept of kinetics.

Ivana Run for President

Ultimately, Trump won't run. In large part due to what's conveyed in this cartoon. That's a shame. Not for the country, but for me and my ilk. Who would YOU rather satirize? Trump or Pawlenty?

All Things Obliterated

Republicans saw Bill Clinton as a horndog who was somehow illegitimately elected. So Bill Clinton behaved like a horndog, lied about it under oath and handed a gift-wrapped scenario to the people who sought to remove him from office.

Republicans see NPR as elitist, soft on terrorism, and seriously biased against Republicans . So what does NPR do...?

Gipper Tripper

One of my favorite 30 Rock episodes/concepts is "Reaganing." Almost every day, I express my need to/bemoan my failure at "Reaganing."

The Pit and the Congressman

I know dental work can add up but $150,000!? Kucinich has always had a hell of a smile so who am I to put a price on it? He should probably be more concerned with what he'll do after being redistricted into oblivion than keeping sandwich wraps safe from olive pits.

SOTU Much Hyperbole

This cartoon began while watching the Jets-Steelers and becoming increasingly irritated with Jim Nantz. Then I remembered how breathlessly annoying he is at The Masters. Next I simply applied that to the pompous language that usually accompanies the SOTU. Instant cartoon.

Paul in the Family

This cartoon was begging to be drawn. I've had roommates and I've had Libertarians, but I've never had a Libertarian roommate.

Tragedies and Travesties

I'm surprised but glad Obama proved me wrong on this. I finally felt like he really was a human being and especially, a father. I'm glad Congresswoman Giffords is recovering in miraculous ways. I'm sad that we can't even seem to agree that the mentally unbalanced shouldn't be sold guns.
